SAU 67 works to remove barriers for homeless students to enroll in school and access educational opportunities under the federal McKinney Vento Act. Homeless students are those who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence, which includes the following:
- Living with friends or relatives due to loss of housing, economic hardship or similar reason
- Living in a hotel or motel due to lack of alternative accommodations
- Living in an emergency or transitional shelter
- Living in a car, park, on the street or similar settings.
Student services include: Immediate enrollment in school, Free school breakfast and lunch, School supplies and toiletries, Transportation to school of origin or other transportation agreements, Emergency clothing, Assistance with school activities, field trips, etc.
